ITINERARY

Hanoi – Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng – Meo Vac – Du Gia – Bao Lac – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – God’s Eye Mountain – Ba Be Lake – Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van

Your private journey begins with a morning departure from Hanoi toward Ha Giang. After reaching Ha Giang, meet your local female-led tour team and continue into the mountains by private open-air Jeep.

The first section of the journey takes you through Bac Sum Pass and up to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, where spectacular views open across the surrounding limestone mountains and valleys. Continue through Quan Ba and Yen Minh, passing peaceful villages, terraced fields and dramatic mountain scenery.

In the afternoon, visit Tham Ma Pass and continue to Sa Phin to see the historic Hmong King Palace, an important cultural site of the Hmong community in the region.

Continue to Dong Van Town, where you check into your accommodation and enjoy a local dinner.

Day 2: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Meo Vac – Du Gia

After breakfast, leave Dong Van and travel along the famous Happiness Road toward Ma Pi Leng Pass.

This is one of the most spectacular sections of the entire journey. Towering limestone cliffs rise above deep valleys, while the turquoise Nho Que River winds far below. Stop at selected viewpoints to admire the panoramic mountain scenery and take photographs.

Continue through Meo Vac and onward through the remote mountain roads toward Mau Due and Lung Ho. The landscape changes constantly, with high mountain passes, valleys, traditional villages and terraced farmland appearing along the route.

By afternoon, descend toward the peaceful Du Gia Valley. Surrounded by mountains and green countryside, Du Gia offers a completely different atmosphere from the rugged high passes.

Check into your accommodation and enjoy dinner in the village.

Day 3: Du Gia – Bac Me – Bao Lam – Me Pia Pass – Bao Lac

After breakfast, leave Du Gia and continue toward the remote mountain landscapes between Ha Giang and Cao Bang.

Today’s route is quieter and less visited than the classic Ha Giang Loop. Travel through Bac Me and Bao Lam, passing forests, limestone mountains, small valleys and traditional communities along the way.

Continue toward the dramatic Me Pia Pass, one of the most distinctive mountain roads in northern Vietnam. The winding road cuts through the mountains in a series of tight curves and offers impressive views of the surrounding landscape.

There will be opportunities to stop along the way for photographs and to experience everyday life in the remote mountain communities.

Continue to Bao Lac, a peaceful mountain town surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Day 4: Bao Lac – Cao Bang – Nguom Ngao Cave – Ban Gioc Waterfall

After breakfast, continue from Bao Lac toward Cao Bang through a beautiful landscape of limestone mountains, forests and rural villages.

As you approach the Ban Gioc region, visit Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most impressive natural caves in northern Vietnam. Walk through the cave to see its remarkable limestone formations, stalactites and stalagmites.

Continue through the countryside toward Ban Gioc Waterfall.

Located among dramatic limestone mountains and green valleys, Ban Gioc is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural attractions. Take time to enjoy the different viewpoints and photograph the waterfall surrounded by the peaceful countryside.

Depending on local conditions, a bamboo raft experience can also be arranged to give you a closer view of the falls.

Day 5: Ban Gioc – God’s Eye Mountain – Ba Be Lake

After breakfast, leave Ban Gioc and continue through the scenic countryside of Cao Bang.

Travel toward God’s Eye Mountain, a distinctive natural formation surrounded by green valleys and dramatic limestone scenery. Stop to enjoy the views and take photographs before continuing toward Ba Be.

The road gradually changes from rugged limestone mountains to forests, valleys and peaceful rural landscapes. This section of the journey offers a quieter side of northern Vietnam, with fewer tourists and more opportunities to see traditional village life.

Continue toward Ba Be National Park and arrive at your accommodation near the lake.

Enjoy dinner and relax in the peaceful surroundings of the Tay communities and mountains.

Day 6: Ba Be Lake – Pac Ngoi Village – Hanoi

After breakfast, explore the peaceful landscapes of Ba Be National Park.

Ba Be Lake is Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake, surrounded by limestone mountains and forest. Enjoy the calm scenery and, depending on weather and local conditions, take a private boat trip across the lake.

Continue to Pac Ngoi Village, a traditional Tay community located beside Ba Be Lake. Walk through the village, see traditional houses and experience the slower pace of life in this remote mountain region.

After lunch, begin the private journey back to Hanoi.
